OK, so Ollie’s Burger isn’t exactly in Clark – but it’s not too far away and deserving of review and recognition nonetheless. And they do delivery too..

Just outside Clark, along Friendship Highway after Korean Town. At McDonalds traffic lights drive down towards Timog Park Subdivision Main Gate & Carmenville Subdivision – heading towards Pampang Market/Hensonville/Angeles City.

Restaurant
Ollie’s Burger is neither small, or big. Being located in a new modern building it is fresh, clean and has an open-plan kitchen design that instills confidence. You can see exactly how your food is prepared and the overall excellent hygiene standards adhered to by the restaurant.
Also worthy of note is their clean, comfortable and well conceived CR facilities – Well done!
Menu
Not surprisingly “Burgers” are the main staple here. You kinda wouldn’t expect anything less would you? And the burgers are BIG!
Wings, Nachos, Milkshakes, Beers and Fries are also on the menu – but best avoid Ollie’s Burger completely if you are watching your waistline, because anyone on a diet will be right in the middle of too much temptation!
The menu is not too daunting, with the emphasis on various styles of burgers, all of which are made from very high quality ingredients. The menu is well thought out, easily understood and not too “fussy” – top marks! It is always pleasing to see a menu that sticks to the “KISS Principle”: Keep It Simple – Stupid!
Food Quality
As already mentioned above, the open-plan kitchen design leaves nowhere to hide. Discerning dinners should be more than satisfied that the food storage, preparation and cooking standards are high. Additionally, the actual ingredients used should be of a quality relevant to the establishment and prices charged. Again, Ollie’s Burger seems to have got the balance right – Top Marks again!
Service
The staff at Ollie’s Burger seem well invested in the happiness of their customers. They are well trained, knowledgeable about the menu and all have genuine, welcoming personalities. So, the overall attitude of the staff is excellent, which is a pleasant change from the lifeless service provided by other establishments.
On busy days/nights it is a fair criticism that waiting times can be a little long. Of course the sign of a good restaurant – is a busy restaurant! However, as Ollie’s Burger becomes more well known and frequented, the management will have to keep an eye on waiting times to ensure they do not become detrimental.
Taste
Cleanliness, the use of quality ingredients and presentation alone do not make for great food. Accurate recipes, cooking style(s) and natural talent do. Consistency is also vital. Over/under seasoned food is commonplace in the Philippines, as is enjoying a great dish one time and being disappointed on your next visit. Consistency is the name of the game.
In our review Ollie’s burger gained a 4 Star Tasty Rating. They dropped a Star purely because on a couple of occasions their homemade burger mincemeat recipe was under seasoned. You could clearly taste the high quality of the meat – but the simple addition of a little more salt & pepper would have ‘lifted’ the overall bland taste of the burger meat.
Similarly, the Nachos and Twisty Fries have a tendency to be over adulterated with toppings and seasoning that overpower the base ingredients.
These are genuine observations and intended as constructive criticisms. Our in-house Love Clark Reviews are conducted by a retired international executive Chef and Hotel Manager – so our food reviews are independent and in-depth. The taste of the food at Ollie’s Burger remains good and worthy of a 4 Star Tasty Rating – it’s still very good!
Atmosphere
Ollie’s Burger scores Top Marks for atmosphere as it is a friendly, welcoming and comfortable venue with a trendy, chilled-out vibe. Their live music nights have proved very popular, with various visiting bands/artists providing a great background to your evening of burger indulgence.
Live music in the Philippines is generally of a very high standard and rumour has it that every Filipino is born with a microphone in their hand – who knows? All we know is that live music at Ollie’s Burger is a great idea and we look forward to its return post-lockdown.
Note: Live music nights are popular, so arrive early and be prepared to wait longer for your food.
Value
Ollie’s Burger affords very good value for money when you consider the venue, quality of ingredients and high standards they adhere to. They score 4 Stars for value and only dropped a Star as we feel some of their Side Dishes are a little over-priced (e.g. Plain Fries ₱150).
The main staples of the menu are priced very competitively (i.e. the burgers!) and certainly worthy of 4 Stars. And to be fair, there is ample safe parking right outside too, which is a definite plus.
Live Music
Prior to lockdown and ever changing local and national quarantine rules, Ollie’s Burger Live Music nights were a real hit. As a quality venue they play host to quality bands/artists that provide a wonderful atmosphere without the need to ‘showboat’. It is pleasing that all the artists are there to provide an entertaining backdrop for diners – not to make a name for themselves.
